Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) is an acronym for “Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises.” The micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise (MSME) sector is the country’s economic backbone. MSME plays a critical part in any economy’s growth and development. As a result, the Government enacted the MSMED Act 2006 to boost MSME. MSME registration is necessary to receive several benefits from the government and banking sector under the MSMED Act. However, although MSME registration is not required, it is strongly recommended.
There are two sorts of MSME:
- Manufacturing Businesses
- Businesses that provide services
- Traders, both wholesale and retail
MSME registration is now based on Aadhaar. It’s a 12-digit government identification number provided by the Ministry of MSME to all small, medium, and small-scale businesses and industries. “Udyam Registration” is another name for this registration. The government has now enabled wholesale and retail dealers to be classified as MSMEs, and they would be eligible for “Udyam Registration” as well.
