Art Van-delay has already pushed games farther into 2022 or even 2023. As 2022 progresses, the list of game delayed will rival the list of 2022 releases. We’ve collected a list of all the delayed games, excluding those that have released. Forspoken is the newest 2022 game delay. Only titles with delays across all platforms (not only Switch cloud) were included, unless new versions were scheduled years after the original release.
Game Delayed: Skull & Bones
It’s an ancient story. a rhyme as old as music. Delay in Skull & Bones.
It will now probably arrive in March 2023 after already experiencing multiple delays. Since the game’s first announcement in 2017, there have changes made to the development team, including the hiring of a new creative director. Hugues Ricour, the general director of the studio, also resigned in late 2020 amid claims of harassment and abuse.
Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals
The eagerly awaited sequel to Oxenfree was supposed to release in 2022, but it appears like Night School Studio needs to enroll in a few more classes before the game is prepared. The release date has moved to 2023 because, according to the studio, it wants to make the game “really remarkable” and provide more localization possibilities. Although a precise release date has not announced, it will be made available on PC, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch.
Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth
It’s not a very long delay, but it’s still a delay. The upgraded version of the PSP game Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth will no longer release concurrently with Valkyrie Elysium. Rather, the release date has moved up to December 22; customers who have preordered the Valkyrie Elysium Digital Deluxe Edition will get it then. The delay cited as being necessary to “enhance the quality,” but at least you can pass the time by playing another game!
Game Delayed: Evil West
Keeping track with all the “Something West” video games in 2022 can be challenging, but Evil West appears to be one of the greatest. Sadly, it won’t be available on September 1 as scheduled. The release date was postponed to November 22 in order to give it more polish, especially as it would be available on five distinct platforms over two generations, according to Flying Wild Hog and Focus Entertainment.
Game Delayed: Deliver Us Mars
Deliver Us Mars, the sequel to Deliver Us The Moon, once planned to ship in September 2022. However, Frontier and Keoken stated it will delay more than four months to improve the playing experience for players around a month before its scheduled release date. It will now be available on February 2, 2023.
Game Delayed: Hogwarts Legacy
Hogwarts Legacy, a video game set in the Harry Potter universe’s 19th century, first slated for release in 2021 but later postponed to the 2020 holiday season. That also didn’t happen, as the game’s new release date is February 2023. Versions for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox will go on sale at this time. The release date for the Nintendo Switch version, however, has not yet confirmed.
Metal Slug Tactics
Metal Slug Tactics, a spin-off of the core run-and-gun Metal Slug series (which we haven’t seen in a while), initially slated to release sometime in 2022 but has subsequently been postponed into next year. The announcement was brief and only stated that “the squad needs a little more time in the shop to prepare for the battles ahead,” without going into any detail. River City Girls 2
Expectations are very high for the follow-up to WayForward’s River City Girls, which was a huge success. Marvel’s Midnight Suns
It won’t release in 2022, according to Jake Solomon and the strategists at Firaxis. Take-Two revealed that Marvel’s Midnight Suns will launch on new-generation platforms in FY 2023 after previously experiencing a delay. The game will be released on more traditional consoles including the Nintendo Switch at a later date.
Arc Raiders
Arc Raiders, a cooperative shooter made by a veteran Battlefield developer, once planned to release in 2022. To “extend the experience, and allow it to reach its maximum potential,” Embark Studios announced a delay to 2023 in a message they sent in August. There hasn’t yet been a release of the exact day in 2023.
Season: A Letter To The Future
You’ll have to wait longer than you’d want for one of the biggest bicycle road trip games because there aren’t exactly a ton of them available. Originally slated to release this year, Season: A Letter To The Future was postponed by Scavengers Studio until 2023. The game will currently launch in Q1 of next year due to the delay, but the wait shouldn’t be too painful.
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide
Fatshark’s Warhammer 40,000: Darktide postponed from its initial 2021 release date to Spring 2021 in order to allow the development team more time for refining and ensuring the game’s endurance after launch. The Xbox version of the game has not yet given a firm release date, although a subsequent delay further pushed it to November 30 on PC.
Game Delayed: Toy Soldiers HD (Nintendo Switch)
On August 5, Toy Soldiers HD scheduled to release for the Nintendo Switch. Accelerate Games noticed a problem with the game’s multiplayer mode functioning on Nintendo Switch consumer-level hardware, which did not arise elsewhere in development, just before the game’s release, forcing a delay. The message emphasized that a new date will still be arriving “soon,” but it has not yet been set.
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, a stealth game, supposed to come out on September 1; however, it now seems Daedalic Entertainment is striving to make it a little more “precious.” There is currently no set debut date, but it postponed by “a few months,” according to a tweet.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
Ubisoft’s Massive team is working on the first-person action-adventure game Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, but it won’t finish in time for the scheduled release date. The game’s delay release for the following fiscal year was confirmed by Ubisoft in July 2022. This places it in April 2023 at the earliest, however it may be much later before humans are able to visit Pandora.
Star Wars: Hunters
One of the most thrilling Star Wars multiplayer games to come out recently may be the smartphone and Switch title Star Wars: Hunters, a fighting arena game. Game Delayed: Replaced
The release of the new sci-fi platformer Replaced originally scheduled for 2022, but it will now happen in 2019. Due to the studio’s developers’ presence in both Belarus and Ukraine, Sad Cat Studios, along with Coatsink and Thunderful, made the choice. The team decided to evacuate due to the escalating conflict, which meant that progress had to put on hold.
Game Delayed: Tchia
T-t-t-t-t-chia! Sorry. Tchia’s production has postponed till next year. According to the statement, the “control anything” adventure game needs more polish and a chance to include more “small things.” The game contains a fully playable ukulele. That has both gameplay and creative ramifications, and it has been in development for more than three years.
Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown
It will no longer be 2022 when the next installment in the Test Drive Unlimited series debuts. Testing Without Limits With 550 kilometers of Hong Kong Island made playable in a driving “lifestyle” game. Solar Crown, the production team emphasized the need of polish.
Kerbal Space Program 2
There won’t be a follow-up to the highly regarded Kerbal Space Program space flight simulator in 2022. Game Delayed: Starfield
One of the biggest games from 2022 will now fall under the banner of a 2023 event. The launch date for Bethesda’s Starfield was November 11, 2022, although this might have been too optimistic. Without a new set release date, the game will now arrive somewhere in 2023. In a post on social media in May, Bethesda provided a hazy “polish” justification for the delay as well as the delay of Redfall.

Game Delayed: The Witcher 3 (current-gen)
The Witcher 3 was released in 2015 on last-generation consoles. However, CD Projekt Red chose to stop collaborating with Saber Interactive and transfer development to a team within the company. The decision caused the game to move from its Q2 2022 window.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, will now hit store shelves in May 2023. Nintendo did not give a detailed explanation for the delay. But like any Zelda game, the explanation is often “making sure it’s flawless.” The sequel shares Breath of the Wild’s visual aesthetic and will have gameplay both in the air and on the ground.
Game Delayed: Sons of the Forest
The highly anticipated sequel to The Forest initially scheduled to debut in May. But Endnight Games, the company behind Sons of the Forest, now claims the timeline was “overly ambitious.” The survival game will now launch in October, and given its macabre themes. This altered release window may really be ideal.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
Rocksteady needs a little more time to perfect its first full-length game since Batman: Arkham Knight. The developer revealed that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will release in 2023. It’s technically a storyline sequel to Arkham Knight and features characters like Harley Quinn and Deadshot.
Game Delayed: EA Sports PGA Tour
What the heck is a double bogey? EA chose to postpone EA Sports PGA Tour again after previously delaying it once. The future golf event will now take place in the spring of 2023, Tiger Woods’ name will be absent. The golfing legend has changed teams and is now just associated with 2K Geometry Dash Games.
