Overview
Himachal Pradesh once quoted the great writer Rudyard Kipling as saying, “The gods are undoubtedly dwelling here…” Many people have been fascinated by the solitary grandeur of this Mountainous region in North India from time immemorial. This landscape is brimming with divine peace, from holy houses to charming hamlets, bubbling rivers through glacial lakes, and lush green pasturelands to snow-capped hills. The various pathways that invite walkers to explore its beauty and find solace in nature may be Himachal Pradesh’s most significant contribution. Lets see some of the best treks in Himachal!
Patalsu Trek
Patalsu Peak trip, like many other very gorgeous Himachal Pradesh hikes, commences in Solang Nallah, near the magnificent city of Manali. The trek takes you through open mountains, narrow ridges, and glacier roads. You will also see thick oak and pine woods before reaching Mount Petals’ peak at 4250 metres. You can expect an enjoyable bird watching experience as well as sightings of creatures like monks and intriguing species.
Travel from Manali to the 14-kilometer-long Solang Valley on the first day. Make your way to the settlement of Solang. The next day, you’ll camp for the second night in the wonderful open Shagadugh meadow. Begin your trek early in the morning and arrive at the intriguing Patalsu mountain in the afternoon on the third day. From the highest point, you can see the entire Kullu valley, as well as the tallest peaks of Hanuman Tibba and Hanuman Tibba.

Triund Trek
Triund Trek is a famous beginning trek in Himachal Pradesh. The Triund Trek begins in McLeodganj and follows a beautiful route with views of Dhauladhar on one side and the gorgeous Kangra Valley on the other. The first checkpoint at Gallu Devi Temple is pretty easy and ordinary, but then the wilderness begins. To complete your journey successfully and safely, you should pray at the shrine as you walk along it. The path to the peak is very straightforward and uncomplicated for beginners.
The first 5 kilometres to Bhagsu Nag follow a pleasant path, flanked by small shops and pubs. The Magic View Café, which offers the greatest views of the Dhauladhar and Kangra valleys, is one of the most well-known. At Bhagsu Nag, there is an old temple dedicated to Bhagsu Nag, a local snake god, as well as a waterfall of the same name. After that, it becomes a little steeper, but not very steep, before reaching the top. The view from above is quite magnificent, and I’m hoping to make it to the summit before nightfall. Before going the next day, enjoy resting and snoring under the open starry sky of Triund, surrounded by towering peaks.
Trek to Kareri Lake
For this gorgeous unusual hike, all you need is a long weekend in Himachal Pradesh’s Kangra area. During this tour to the glacial Kareri Lake, you must first see the lovely town of Dharamshala, which is formed by rivers flowing down from Minkiani Peak. You can trek for around 25 kilometres to the village of Kareri, then another 6 kilometres to Liyoti Village, which is located in the heart of the native Gaddi Tribe. The next day, you hike through oak, pine, and rhododendron woods before reaching Reoti village campgrounds and ascend hard ascents along Kareri Nallah and Nylund Nallah streams. It brings you via alpine fields with wooden bridges over riverbanks to the steep Kareri Lake in Minkiani Pass. It was like a mirror glass reflecting nature’s beauty in the midst of absolute void.
Take a look at the old Shiva temple, which stands like a guardian on the peak overlooking the lake. After such a wee hours in the tents, continue that day to Kareri Village in Dharamshala.
Trek to Bhagsu Nag
Bhagsu Nag, located to the east of McLeodganj, is famed for its magnificent waterfalls. The path is popular with tourists of all ages, especially in the summer, who come to see McLeodganj or Dharamshala.
Both the town and the falls are named from a local mythology about a battle among King Bhagsu and Naga, the Snake God. The climb to Bhagsunag waterfalls and the old temple was simple and uncomplicated, with small eateries and craft shops along the way. You can either return the same way you came or begin the Triund Trek when you reach the summit and take your photos.
Trek to Karol Tibba
The Karol Tibba Trek is a dazzling jewel among Himachal’s short to intermediate hiking tours. The spectacular top, which overlooks the village of Solan, attracts a large number of hikers and adventurers each year. The trail begins in Chambaghat, about 25 kilometres from Kasauli and near Solan. The trail begins on man-made brick walkways, leads to grasslands, and then into steep slopes through dense forests of cedar and pine trees.
The first several hundred metres of Pandava Cave, which was thought to be the Himalayas’ lengthiest and widest cellar, are icing on the cake. According to mythology, the Pandava brothers hid in this cave after fleeing the burning Jatugriha.
